Heavy Rains Leave Two Dead, Two Injured Across KP
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Two people were killed and two others injured as heavy rains triggered the collapse of roofs and walls in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 17, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
According to the PDMA, the deceased included a man and a woman, while the injured were also a man and a woman. The heavy rains also damaged eight houses, including five partially damaged and three completely destroyed, the PDMA said.
The incidents were reported in:
- Abbottabad
- Swat
- Buner
- Swabi
- Lower South Waziristan districts.
The PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant departments remain in coordination, with relief and response activities underway.
PDMA Director General urged citizens to:
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Refrain from visiting vulnerable tourist destinations
- Follow weather alerts and advisories issued by the authorities.
