Housing Minister Expresses Concern Over Delays In Green Enclave-I, Lifestyle Residency Project

Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, while chairing the 50th Executive Board Meeting of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), expressed grave concern over the prolonged delays in the completion of the Green Enclave-I and Lifestyle Residency projects. He directed the Authority to take immediate and effective measures to address the issues.

At the outset of the meeting, the Federal Minister questioned the FGEHA authorities over the significant delays in the projects and sought detailed explanations for the lack of progress. He noted that he had frequently been called upon to answer questions about these projects before Parliamentary and Senate committees as well as various oversight forums, and expressed his concern that despite almost three years having passed, the projects were not making the desired progress.

Noting media reports of protests by allottees of Green Enclave-I reaching the Federal Ombudsman, the Minister emphasized that the concerns of these allottees could not be ignored. He demanded transparency, accountability and efficiency from the Authority in resolving the issues and ensuring the completion of the projects. The Minister directed that all pending inquiry reports be submitted within set deadlines and called for swift action on their findings, stating that further delays in completing inquiries were exacerbating the situation and causing uncertainty for public servants who had invested their hard-earned money with hopes of securing homes.

During the meeting, the FGEHA Executive Board approved the Authority’s annual budget for the financial year 2026–27.
