Indonesian Consulate General Commemorates 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day
The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi celebrated the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence together with the Indonesian community and their families in Sindh Province. The celebration included:
- A solemn flag-hoisting ceremony.
- An reception with Indonesian cultural performances.
- A culinary bazaar showcasing Indonesian cuisine.
The event was attended by Pakistani government representatives, ASEAN and other diplomatic missions, and business partners. Irfan Soomro, DG of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Liaison Office (FALO) in Karachi, served as the Chief Guest. Also present were Consul Generals from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Morocco, Yemen, and the Philippines.
In his remarks, Mr. Mudzakir, the Consul General of Indonesia, emphasized the strong historical bond between Indonesia and Pakistan, reiterating Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people relations.
Irfan Soomro, as Chief Guest, recalled the close ties established by the founding fathers of both nations, highlighting that this historic bond remains a crucial foundation for advancing economic cooperation and business linkages.
Distinguished guests praised the flag ceremony and Indonesian culinary and cultural presentations, expressing hope for further enhanced bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan across multiple sectors in the future.
