Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi Announces Art Exhibition
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, on Thursday, announced that selected artworks depicting the thought and philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal would be showcased at international exhibitions to introduce his message globally through art.
He made these remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a painting and art exhibition titled “Saqi Nama”, organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) in collaboration with Off-Grid Studios.
The exhibition was held at the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum.
The show, dedicated to the great philosopher and poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, features artworks by renowned artists Geytee Ara, Lubna Jehangir, and Zara Haider Babry.
Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, after appreciating the displayed artworks, noted their high quality and expressed delight at the artists' successful transformation of Allama Iqbal’s poetry and message into art. He further stated that some of the pieces were comparable to internationally renowned artworks.
He emphasized that selected artworks would be preserved and efforts would be made to exhibit them abroad, allowing the world to connect with Allama Iqbal’s thought and message through a unique artistic lens.
Dr. Muhammad Waqas Saleem, Executive Director of Lok Virsa, expressed pleasure over the exhibition's organization, highlighting its role in conveying Allama Iqbal’s message to a broader audience.
Geytee Ara, a renowned artist, discussed the exhibition's objectives and her creative process, encouraging young people to engage with Allama Iqbal’s work.
Another artist, Zarar, recited verses from Allama Iqbal’s Saqi Nama, which was well-received by the audience. He also highlighted various initiatives aimed at promoting Allama Iqbal’s thought and message.
Zamurrad Khan, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home, attended the event as a special guest, emphasizing the exhibition's role in introducing Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s legacy to younger generations and the wider public.
