Issues Can Be Resolved Before Long March If Government Implements Supreme Court Order: Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar

Petrol prices have skyrocketed to $109, and political tensions are rising with various groups planning marches, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami, and the Farmers Union. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, a political leader, suggests that these issues could be resolved before any large-scale demonstrations if the government simply follows the Supreme Court’s order.
Khokhar, in a Hum news program, proposed that talks could be initiated and matters settled before the planned marches. He mentioned Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s initiative to arrange a meeting between the Prime Minister and political leaders at the Parliament House.
"Forget the demands; the government should implement the Supreme Court’s order. If politicians engage in dialogue, many issues can be resolved," Khokhar stated.
He pointed out that multiple groups are organizing marches, including PTI on September 27, Jamaat-e-Islami on the 20th, and the Farmers Union on September 25. With petrol prices at an all-time high, Khokhar emphasized the need to address internal challenges through political negotiations.
Asma Shirazi, during the program, inquired about the early deployment of containers at Islamabad’s entry points. Khurram Dastgir Khan, a PML-N leader, explained that with only 13 days left, the government intended to stop protesters from reaching Islamabad, while the protesters wanted to enter the city. He stressed the importance of finding a peaceful solution for democratic progress.
Khokhar further compared the current political climate to previous marches, where Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Nawaz, and Hamza Shehbaz had successfully brought their protests to Islamabad. He encouraged a broad-minded approach to politics, allowing PTI to enter the capital peacefully.
Khurram Dastgir Khan agreed that the path for dialogue and negotiations was clear and should begin immediately. He added that the government should cooperate with PTI for a peaceful march to avoid potential benefits to terrorists during the demonstrations.
Shaukat Yousafzai, a PTI leader, argued that the government should stop its confrontational attitude and create a conducive environment for negotiations. He saw this as an ideal opportunity for talks with Imran Khan, potentially leading to a postponement of the protest.
