Kidney Transplant: Two Free Operations Conducted At BVH
BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 26, 2026) — After the provision of funds and medical facilities, two free-of-cost kidney transplant operations were successfully conducted at Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).
According to an official press release, under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, funds and necessary medical machinery were provided to the kidney center of BVH in Bahawalpur to perform free surgeries for poor patients.
The statement reads: "Two patients were admitted to the kidney center of BVH who sought transplantation of kidneys. Free-of-cost medical operations of kidney transplant for them were conducted successfully."
It further adds that at private hospitals, a patient typically has to pay Rs 2.5 million to Rs 03 million in expenses for undergoing a kidney transplant operation. In contrast, BVH's kidney center conducts such surgeries free of cost. The patients are also provided with free medicines for one year post-surgery.
