KP CS Reviews Arrangement For MDCAT 2026

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News15th Sep, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess final preparations for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026.

He directed all concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination for the smooth conduct of the examination.

The meeting focused on aligning arrangements across the province ahead of the test. Officials briefed the Chief Secretary on the institutional framework, logistics, candidate demographics, and the responsibilities assigned to various departments to ensure the examination is held in a transparent and secure manner.

According to officials, 38,842 candidates have registered through the central Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) online portal, including 20,736 female candidates (53%) and 18,106 male candidates (47%). Arrangements have been made at 59 notified examination centres across seven administrative regions of the province. The Peshawar region will host the largest number of candidates, 16,721 across 13 centres, followed by Mardan with 5,459 candidates at six centres, Abbottabad with 4,996 candidates at five centres, and Swat with 4,937 candidates across seven centres. The Dir Lower and Malakand region will accommodate 2,795 candidates at three centres, D.I. Khan 2,374 candidates at three centres, and Kohat 1,560 candidates at three centres.

The meeting was informed that all necessary preparations are in place.

Concluding the meeting, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to conducting the test with strict adherence to merit, security, and administrative discipline, and directed all participating agencies to maintain close coordination in the run-up to September 20.
