LG&CD Minister Reviews Development Schemes Under PDP In Muridke
Punjab Minister for Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) Zeeshan Rafiq on Saturday visited Muridke city and reviewed ongoing development schemes being executed under the Punjab Development Programme (PDP).
During his inspection of under-construction water storage tanks for rainwater drainage, the minister issued necessary directions to the Assistant Project Director and Municipal Officer Infrastructure (MOI).
Zeeshan Rafiq directed that mandatory safety arrangements be ensured at excavation sites, particularly during the rainy season. He stated that completed water storage tanks should be connected with the drainage system for effective rainwater disposal.
The minister instructed the MOI to daily visit project sites and closely monitor work by contractors. He emphasized the completion of all PDP schemes within stipulated timelines, noting that the LG&CD Department manages development responsibilities in 52 cities and the PDP plans for the next 25 years.
He further directed officials to ensure high-quality construction materials in every scheme and maintain required standards throughout project execution.
