London has missed out to Nairobi in the bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships.

London Stadium, home of Championship club West Ham United, was proposed as the host venue. The stadium also hosted the 2012 Olympic Games, annual London Diamond League, and the city’s last World Athletics Championships in 2017.
Rome was another city to miss out, as Munich was confirmed to host the 2031 event—the third time it has been held at its Olympic stadium.

Remember that: This decision continues World Athletics’ mission to grow the sport globally, hosting championships in Asia, Africa, and Europe over the next three editions.
