MCI Puts Municipal Services On PAK App
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), in collaboration with the National Information Technology board (NITB), has shifted a number of key municipal services to the PAK App. This allows citizens and businesses to:
- Apply for services online.
- Submit documents digitally.
- Make payments electronically.
- Track applications through the app.
The move aims to make Islamabad a cashless, contact-less, and paperless capital, reducing the need for repeated visits to municipal offices.
MCI manages a vast network of public-facing services catering to residents, businesses, and other stakeholders. Services being digitized include:
- Advertising and open space permissions.
- Parking permits.
- Generator licenses.
- Other municipal approvals and related services.
Digitalization offers several benefits:
- Simplification of procedures with clear requirements and processes.
- Reduced uncertainty and consistency in application processing.
- Electronic records for applications, approvals, payments, and transactions.
- Improved monitoring and case resolution through digital grievance redressal mechanisms.
The initiative also focuses on enhancing MCI’s internal workflow, electronic record keeping, and monitoring. Citizens will access services through their mobile phones, eliminating the need for in-person visits to government offices (where applicable).
This project is part of MCI’s larger drive to modernize Islamabad’s civic administration through technology and improve public facilitation, strengthening transparency, accountability, and institutional oversight.
