Mobile Veterinary Clinics Approved To Bring Livestock Healthcare to Farmers’ Doorsteps in KP
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Sep, 2026) The Livestock and Dairy Development Department has launched a program to establish mobile veterinary clinics across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, providing livestock healthcare and treatment facilities directly at farmers' doorsteps.
Scheme Details:
- "Ehsaas Be-Zuba’n Sehat Gaari" is the initiative's name, focusing on free treatment, medicines, diagnostic services, and vaccination for animals in both settled and merged districts of the province.
- The program has been included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) with an estimated cost of Rs. 485 million for settled districts and Rs. 469 million for merged areas.
- 50 mobile veterinary clinics will be introduced, with 25 each for settled and merged districts.
Clinic Features:
- Equipped with veterinary doctors, diagnostic labs, ultrasound machines, surgical equipment, medicines, vaccines, and cold-chain facilities.
- Vehicles fitted with tracking devices linked to the Livestock Management Information System (LMIS) for monitoring.
Benefits and Implementation:
- Dr. Kamran, a Senior Veterinary Officer, highlights that this project addresses a longstanding challenge of limited access to professional veterinary services in remote areas.
- LED screens and sound systems will run awareness videos and conduct farmer education sessions during field visits.
- Farmers will receive guidance on disease prevention, vaccination schedules, improved animal husbandry, poultry management, and modern livestock production techniques.
Timetable:
- Vehicle procurement is ongoing, with mobile veterinary clinics expected to start operating by November or December 2026.
- Around 25 vehicles have been arranged so far, with additional vehicles in progress for both settled and merged districts.
