A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally attacked by a group of people armed with weapons in Leeds.
The 38-year-old victim was attacked outside a property in New Wortley at about 22:25 BST on Saturday in what police described as a "targeted and isolated" incident.
Police and paramedics attended the address on Hedley Chase and gave the man treatment, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Det Ch Insp Dan Bates, of West Yorkshire Police's homicide and major enquiry team, said the force was working "extremely hard" to identify those involved.
"From initial reports, we understand that four people who were armed with weapons carried out a sustained attack on the victim," he said.
"We have significant resources working to get answers for his family and ensure that those responsible face justice for their actions."
He added: "This was a targeted and isolated attack; we are appealing for any information to who may have been involved to come forward and provide details to us."
The victim's family is being supported by trained officers, with investigations continuing at the scene.
