New Chapter in Pakistan Hockey as PHF Plans League Launch in 2027
Pakistan hockey is set to enter a new phase with the launch of the Pakistan Hockey League (PHL) in the first quarter of 2027, a move aimed at giving fresh impetus to the revival of the national sport. Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), in collaboration with its partners, is working on the league with a focus on creating more opportunities for young and emerging players, providing them with a professional platform to showcase their talent.
According to PHF officials, the league will also help strengthen the game at the grassroots level, offer professional coaching, and improve the overall administrative and competitive structure of Pakistan hockey. They further stated that greater international exposure for players would be another key aspect, helping young talent gain experience and prepare for the demands of international hockey.
Preparation for the Pakistan Hockey League 2027 has already gained momentum, with the PHF committed to making the league an integral part of its long-term plan for the revival of the national game. “The revival of Pakistan hockey has already begun, and we are dedicated to advancing it sustainably,” the officials affirmed.
The federation expressed confidence that the league would contribute to building a stronger pool of players and help restore Pakistan hockey to its former glory on the international stage.
