Petrol prices have been reduced by 84 paisas and diesel prices by Rs2.63 per litre.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2026) OGRA has announced a reduction in petroleum product prices. According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the:
- price of petrol has been cut by 84 paisas per litre,
- while the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs2.63 per litre.
The new petrol price stands at Rs389.28 per litre, and high-speed diesel will now cost Rs412.12 per litre. These changes will take effect from midnight tonight.
The reduction in oil prices in Pakistan comes as global oil prices fell to a two-week low. This is primarily due to:
- prospects of improved oil supplies from the Gulf,
- and hopes that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened.
According to international media reports:
- The price of Brent crude for November contracts fell by $2.01, or 2%, to $98.33 per barrel.
- U.S. West Texas Intermediate for October delivery dropped by $2.50, or 2.61%, to $93.28 per barrel.
Signals from Iran that the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened within the next seven days have eased concerns about oil supplies in the global market.
