OTP Launched For Filing Of Complaints With Wafaqi Mohtasib
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Oct, 2026) Wafaqi Mohtasib Naveed Karam Baloch inaugurated a system of introducing a ‘One Time Password (OTP)’ at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Regional Office, Lahore during the monthly review meeting held Tuesday. The move aims to discourage fake complaints and maintain the sanctity of personal records in online filing.
The new system will promote efficiency, transparency, and protect privacy of complainants, eliminating irregularities. The OTP system will act as a strong check against filing false complaints motivated by malicious intent.
During the review meeting, it was noted that:
- 216,719 cases were received from January to September 2026, a 12% increase over the same period last year.
- 202,415 cases were disposed of by September 30, 2026.
- 54% of total complaints were filed online, reflecting growing public adoption of Information Technology (IT).
- 83.7% of cases were implemented from January to September 2026, a 4% increase over last year.
- Representations to the President against Wafaqi Mohtasib's decisions were negligible (0.28%) in 2026, compared to 0.27% in 2025.
- The IRD program saw a substantial increase in complaints received, reflecting its enhanced reach.
- The Wafaqi Mohtasib's office is collaborating with Pakistani missions abroad to address issues faced by expatriates.
