Patients to Get International-Standard Medical Care at Jinnah Institute of Cardiology: Minister

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Aug, 2026) Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will prove to be a game changer, assuring that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, patients visiting the facility will be provided international-standard medical care.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology on Saturday, where he chaired a meeting to review the administrative affairs and operational arrangements of the hospital in detail.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology had been established at a cost of Rs16 billion and was the first hospital of its kind built on international standards, with a capacity of 250 beds. He highlighted that the hospital is equipped with modern medical facilities, including:

  • Cath labs
  • MRI (including Tesla MRI)
  • Modular operation theatres
  • Cardiac wards
  • Pathology and radiology laboratories
  • ICU and emergency wards
  • A functional heart transplant centre
  • Angio suite
  • Diagnostic rooms and OPD.

The minister expressed satisfaction over the installation of advanced medical equipment, noting that modern facilities at the hospital were a source of great satisfaction. He emphasized that doctors and nurses would serve patients with dedication as patriotic Pakistanis, adding that the first angiography of a heart patient had also been successfully performed on the latest machine at the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology.

Khawaja Salman Rafique directed the doctors and staff to perform their duties with utmost dedication, stressing that every responsibility entrusted to them should be treated as a trust from Allah Almighty.

Dean Professor Dr Hasnat Khan, Executive Director Punjab Institute of Cardiology Professor Syed Imran-ul-Hassan Shah, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Professor Dr Tayyaba Waseem, MS Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Colonel (Retd) Sabrina Jamil, MS PIC Dr Aamir Rafique Butt, and other senior officers attended the meeting.
