LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Despite the submission of expenses amounting to Rs27,194,004 for the government aircraft used by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her private visit to London, the matter shows no sign of subsiding, with serious questions still being raised.
According to details, Benazir Shah pointed out a serious lack of transparency in the matter and sought answers from the Punjab government to several fundamental and highly important questions.
Expressing her position on X, Benazir Shah said that although the government claims that “a payment” has been made and its receipts have also been presented, the entire process appears to lack transparency.
She raised the basic question of whether the amount exceeding Rs27,194,004 was paid from Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s personal bank account or whether another method was used. No clear evidence has been presented showing from whose account the money was actually transferred to the government treasury. In addition, Benazir Shah raised a second technical and legal question in her post: into whose account was this substantial amount specifically deposited? Did the money go into the Punjab government’s central treasury account?
