Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday launched a massive crackdown against substandard food sellers across the district, sealing an illegal manufacturing unit and seizing thousands of unfit food items.

According to a PFA spokesperson, raiding teams conducted targeted operations at various localities, culminating in a major raid at a factory located in Sikka Colony. PFA team recovered and confiscated 3,000 jars of pickles and jams infested with fungus. The substandard food material was destroyed on the spot, and FIRs were lodged against two individuals, including the factory owner.

The PFA reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward elements playing with public health, warning that strict legal action would continue against violators across the province.
