PFA Seals 2 Water Plants, 2 Sweets & Cake Units

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Oct, 2026)

Enforcement teams of Punjab Food Authority (PFA), under the directives of Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad, inspected 26 food points and units, sealing two water plants, two sweets and cake units, and a renowned dairy production unit. This action was taken while imposing heavy fines on 21 food businesses. The operation focused on areas including Iqbal Town, Canal Road, Shah Alam Market, and Shahpur Kanjran.

The DG PFA stated that:

  • A dairy production unit was sealed after its butter sample tested positive for laboratory failure, leading to a fine being imposed.
  • Two water plants were sealed due to their water samples showing substandard quality with harmful bacteria detected.

He further highlighted poor sanitation arrangements at the inspected premises and food items placed directly on the floor. He emphasized that enforcement actions against food fraudsters are continuing under a zero-tolerance policy, adding that access to safe food is every citizen's right.

The DG PFA urged the public to support PFA in eliminating fraudulent practices by reporting any complaints on their 1223 helpline number.
