PPP South Punjab Condemns Attempt To Target Makkah With Drone

Pakistan | Peoples Party (PPP) South Punjab strongly condemns the reported attempt to target the holy city of Makkah with a drone three days ago.

In a joint statement, President PPP South Punjab and former Punjab governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood, Senior Vice President Khawaja Rizwan Alam, and Chief Coordinator Abdul Qadir Shaheen expressed their views:

Any attempt to target the Holy Kaaba is not only an attack on Saudi Arabia's sovereignty but also a grave affront to the religious sentiments and beliefs of the entire Muslim Ummah. Makkah is a sacred city whose sanctity is deeply rooted in the hearts of Muslims worldwide, adding that the Holy Sites could never be allowed to become targets in any conflict.

"The sanctity of the Haram is our red line, and the Muslim world must speak with one voice against any attempt to violate it," they said.

The PPP leaders emphasized that such incidents could endanger regional peace and stability, urging the international community and Muslim countries to take effective measures to ensure complete protection of the Holy Sites from armed conflicts. They welcomed the Saudi defence system's action in intercepting the drone before it entered Makkah's restricted airspace, acknowledging the protection of the Two Holy Mosques as a sacred responsibility.

The PPP, under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stands with Saudi Arabia on matters concerning its security, sovereignty, and the protection of the Two Holy Mosques. They highlighted the deep religious and emotional bonds that Pakistanis share with Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah, emphasizing that any threat to the Holy Sites cannot be treated as an ordinary incident.

The PPP leaders called for unity among Muslim countries to safeguard the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and prayed for lasting peace and security in Makkah and Madinah, as well as unity and solidarity among the Muslim Ummah.
