Punjab, Ontario Ministers Discuss Enhancing Trade, Investment Ties
TORONTO, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Punjab Minister of Industries, Commerce and Investment Shafay Hussain, along with an official delegation, held a meeting with Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade of Government of Ontario Victor Fedeli here on Friday.
Appreciating the growing economic engagement between Pakistan and Canada in recent years, the two ministers exchanged views on the potential to enhance trade, investment, and commercial exchanges between the provinces of Punjab and Ontario.
Minister Hussain highlighted agro-food, agri-tech, value addition and supply chain management in dairy, livestock, poultry, energy, and Himalayan pink salt sectors as low-hanging fruits for deepening Punjab-Ontario economic engagement.
The two sides also discussed technology transfer and promoting business-to-business linkages between the two provinces.
Minister Hussain invited Minister Fedeli to visit Lahore, which he accepted.
