Rawalpindi Confirms Seven Dengue Cases, Intensified District Vector Surveillance

The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has confirmed seven dengue cases across the district for the current year as of September 15, maintaining a zero fatality rate.
According to recent data, a total of 4,126 patients have undergone screening resulting in:
- 3,808 suspected cases
- 1 probable case
- 310 non-dengue cases
Only one patient remains admitted across district hospitals, with no confirmed dengue cases currently hospitalized.
Monthly tracking shows:
- Four confirmed cases recorded in July
- Zero in August
- One confirmed case registered on September 9 in Asghar Mall Scheme.
Vector control operations are being managed by 1,400 field surveillance teams, comprising 415 outdoor teams and 985 indoor units.
The updated data reveals:
- 100% inspection coverage of all 17,859 registered Punjab Information Technology board (PITB) hotspots over the past week.
- Inspection of 5,372,545 houses, with 1,27,733 identified positive for vector presence.
- Checking of 13,89,684 commercial and public spots, marking 17,839 positive.
The highest larval detection figures were recorded in:
- Misrial Road
- Afshan Colony
- Allama Iqbal Colony
Notable presence was also noted in:
- Naseerabad
- Dhoke Mustaqeem
- Pirwadhai
- Dhamyal
- Hazara Colony
- Morgah
- Dhama Syedan
- Pindora
- Dhoke Mangtal
- Dhoke Ratta
- Chak Jalal Din.
Punitive action against dengue Standard Operating Procedures violations has resulted in:
- 2,543 First Information Reports (FIRs) registered
- 652 premises sealed
- 2,119 challans issued
- Rs 25,68,000.00 collected in fines.
Moreover, 31 District Emergency Response Committee (DERC) and 103 Tehsil Emergency Response Committee (TERC) meetings have been conducted so far.
