Recruitment of College Teaching Interns On The Cards
The Punjab government has decided to recruit college teaching interns (CTIs) to meet the teaching needs in government colleges. The Higher Education Department has been directed to recruit CTIs based on requirements, considering the teaching load and student-teacher ratio in these institutions. This program aims to temporarily address the shortage of teaching staff.
In the last academic year 2025-26, a total of 8,084 CTIs were recruited, with quotas allocated for different categories. The appointment duration varied: 7 months for intermediate classes and 10 months for BS programs, both offering a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000. Previously, 7,354 CTIs were recruited across Punjab in the academic year 2024-25, with appointments lasting 6 months and a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 as well.
