RTA and Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation: Strengthening Innovation and Future Foresight

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, organised a specialised workshop to strengthen innovation and future foresight capabilities among RTA teams. This initiative aligns with RTA’s Strategic Plan 2024-2030 vision of becoming "the world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility."

Workshop Focus:

The workshop concentrated on:

  • Enhancing the mobility ecosystem’s readiness for future needs.
  • Developing innovative, sustainable solutions to elevate customer experience and quality of life.
  • Introducing methodologies for designing and operating innovation labs, supporting RTA’s strategic priority of Integrated and Innovative Mobility.

Experts from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation shared practices in:

  • Managing innovation labs.
  • Building organisational capabilities.
  • Crafting proactive solutions to future transport and mobility challenges.

Abeer Tahlak, Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, emphasised that government innovation goes beyond ideation. It requires sustainable organisational capabilities to adapt, anticipate, and transform challenges into opportunities.

Collaboration Goals:

The partnership with RTA aims to translate future visions into practical solutions, fortifying the UAE’s government innovation model and supporting the mobility ecosystem.

Fatima Al Mandoos, Director of Innovation and Pioneering at RTA, highlighted the collaboration’s reflection of RTA’s commitment to investing in human capital and developing capabilities to support strategic priorities and enhance organisational efficiency.

Practical Application:

Participants engaged in an Innovation Tools and Innovation Labs course on the Ibtekr platform, reinforcing their understanding and translating workshop outcomes into actionable initiatives for service and operational improvement.
