SACM Directs Further Strengthening of Cleanliness Arrangements
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Punjab Shoaib Mirza on Monday directed the authorities to further strengthen cleanliness arrangements across Lahore, ensure timely removal of waste from all identified hotspots and achieve zero-waste status in every tehsil under the provincial government’s flagship ‘Suthra Punjab’ campaign.
He was chairing a review meeting attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain Muhammad Ali Ejaz, Director General Suthra Punjab Authority Umar Javed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Abdullah Khan, all assistant commissioners, and senior officials of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC).
Meeting Agenda and Outcomes:
The meeting reviewed cleanliness targets set under the Suthra Punjab campaign and assessed progress on sanitation operations across the district. Assistant commissioners briefed the participants on ongoing cleanliness drives, waste collection and disposal arrangements, and enforcement measures in their respective jurisdictions.
LWMC officials apprised the meeting of operational activities under the campaign, including waste collection, transportation and disposal, and measures being taken to improve the city’s overall sanitation system.
