SCCI to Explore Canadian Market for Sialkot Surgical Instruments: Qaiser Baig

SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has announced plans to send a self-financed trade delegation to Canada in March 2027, tentatively, to explore new business and export opportunities.

According to Chairman SCCI Departmental Committee on Fair and Exhibition, Qaiser Baig, the delegation will focus on the surgical instruments sector, a prominent export-oriented industry in Sialkot. He emphasized that this initiative would provide exporters with an opportunity to:

  • Explore the Canadian market potential.
  • Develop business contacts.
  • Identify avenues for strengthening bilateral trade.

Qaiser Baig clarified that participation is limited to company directors, partners, or proprietors, while employees and managers are ineligible. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will provide a budget for B2B meetings arranged by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Toronto, with all other expenses borne by the participants.

Interested SCCI members can submit online applications along with required documents such as:

  • Signed and stamped application form.
  • Formal request on company letterhead.
  • Company profile.
  • Three years of bank-verified export performance.
  • Tax returns for 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26.
  • Passport and CNIC copies.
  • SCCI membership certificate.
  • NTN and other necessary documents.

An application fee of PKR 10,000 is prescribed, with a subsequent processing fee of PKR 20,000 payable to SCCI upon selection. The deadline for applications is August 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted. Detailed information and the application process are available on the SCCI website.
