Shireen Mazari Alleges Revenge Against Daughter Imaan

If a killer gets 14 years in prison but a tweet leads to a 17-year sentence, who is taking revenge on my children—when nobody listens to the voices of those fighting such cases and they themselves do not even get a lawyer? Former federal minister speaks to media.

Former Federal Minister, Dr. Shireen Mazari, broke down and became emotional while speaking to the media after the hearing of the case involving her daughter, Imaan Mazari, and son-in-law, Hadi Ali Chattha, at the Islamabad High Court.
She alleged that Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar was taking personal revenge against her daughter and stated that all hopes for justice from the judicial system had faded.
Dr. Shireen Mazari, addressing the media representatives on the High Court premises after the hearing, struggled to control her emotions and became tearful. She raised serious questions about the justice system, stating:
"If a person guilty of murder is not sentenced to death, the law provides for 14 years in prison, but here a 17-year sentence is being handed down merely for posting a tweet."
She inquired who was taking revenge on her children in this manner.
Dr. Shireen Mazari highlighted the legal and human rights services provided by Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, who, she said, were lawyers who had always represented human rights cases and defended "poor" and voiceless people free of charge. However, she added, these same lawyers had now been imprisoned and were not being provided legal representation. She noted that the cases involving the two lawyers were not being heard in the High Court according to the principles of justice and were being unnecessarily delayed.
She expressed her firm belief that Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar was taking personal revenge against Imaan, calling it extremely shameful for the superior judiciary. She stated that the High Court had completely failed and that they no longer had any hope of receiving justice from it. She further added that during the day’s hearing, the judge remained completely silent and ultimately adjourned the case in the traditional manner by simply giving the next date.
