Sindh Govt To Establish Judicial Commission In Late Mir Raza Ali Khan Case
KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) The Government of Sindh has extended its deepest sympathy and heartfelt solidarity to the family of late Mir Raza Ali Khan.
A letter addressed by the family to the Chief Minister Sindh has been received with compassion and the utmost seriousness. After carefully considering the concerns expressed by the family, the government of Sindh has decided to request the honourable Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court to establish a Judicial Commission to conduct an impartial and transparent inquiry.
The Commission will:
- Determine the fairness and legality of the investigation in the case.
- Identify any investigative angle or evidence requiring further probe.
- Assess if there was negligence, dereliction of duty, professional misconduct, or unlawful acts by police officers, medico-legal officers, or other officials.
- Recommend further investigations, forensic analyses, and appropriate legal or departmental actions as needed.
The Commission shall have powers under the Sindh Tribunals of Inquiry Ordinance, 1969, including summoning witnesses, examining them on oath, and requiring document production. All government departments are directed to cooperate fully with the Commission.
It will submit its report with findings and recommendations within 30 days (or an extended period if required) of constitution. The Commission will be empowered to examine the investigation’s conduct and recommend appropriate legal actions.
At this difficult time, the Government of Sindh stands with the family of late Mir Raza Ali Khan and prays for their strength. It hopes a transparent inquiry will address legitimate concerns, ensure accountability, and strengthen confidence in the rule of law.
