Special Measures Underway to Provide Essential Healthcare Facilities to Sanitation Workers

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) Special measures are being taken to provide essential healthcare facilities to frontline sanitation workers under the Suthra Punjab initiative.

As part of these efforts, LWMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sheryar Arif Khan inaugurated a Suthra Punjab medical camp at Union Council 244 in Nishtar Town, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

Under the supervision of specialist doctors and medical staff, male and female sanitation workers deployed on cleaning duties in Nishtar Town received free medical check-ups and medicines. The workers also consulted medical experts about their health concerns.

CEO Sheryar Arif Khan, accompanied by officers of the Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore, reviewed the medical facilities being provided to sanitation workers. He met with doctors and medical staff, sought details about the healthcare services being provided at the camp, and inspected the medicines being distributed among the workers.

Sheryar Arif Khan stated that sanitation workers were serving on the frontline to ensure a clean environment for citizens. He added that medical camps would be organized in phases across all union councils in Lahore to provide healthcare facilities to field workers under the Suthra Punjab initiative.

The sanitation workers appreciated the initiative and the special medical facilities being provided as part of the programme. Meanwhile, efforts are also continuing to extend welfare facilities, including social security cards, ration cards and other benefits, to sanitation workers across the Suthra Punjab programme.
