Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a fee of £75 million with Manchester City to sign winger Savinho. This comes after the 22-year-old expressed his desire to leave the Etihad Stadium.

"It’s quite clear when players want to leave, for any reason, then it’s complicated to convince them to stay," said Enzo Maresca, Tottenham’s manager.

Savinho, who joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in 2024, is set to undergo a medical before signing a long-term deal with Spurs. The Brazilian could command an additional £10 million in potential add-ons.

The move comes after a year of speculation, with Tottenham previously failing in their bid to sign him last summer. Savinho’s limited game time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City contributed to his desire for a new challenge.

"It happened with Rodri… it’s complicated to convince them to stay when they want to go," added Maresca.

Spurs have already invested heavily this summer, signing Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, and are reportedly in talks for Omar Marmoush and Cody Gakpo.

With Savinho’s arrival pushing their spending past £300 million, Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign at Brentford on Saturday (17:30 BST), while Manchester City host Bournemouth on Sunday (14:00 BST).
