The United States Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office and presented with a demarche expressing grave concern over the recent visit of US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, to Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir. This move reflects the strong diplomatic stance taken by Pakistan.
As stated by Khawaja Rameez Hassan, a leader of PMLQ Punjab:
"We reject any claim of Jammu & Kashmir being part of India. It is a disputed territory under international law, and its final status must be determined by UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people."
Hassan further noted that Islamabad considers the US stance at odds with their own position and international law, remembering former President Trump’s offer of mediation, and urged Washington to respect Jammu & Kashmir’s disputed status.
