Tahnoon Bin Zayed Meets President of Azerbaijan

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 14th Sep, 2026) H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, visited the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he met with President Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Aliyev, extending wishes for further progress and prosperity for Azerbaijan and its friendly people.
H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon and President Aliyev discussed the friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and Azerbaijan, exploring ways to strengthen it and expand joint cooperation in alignment with shared interests. They also reviewed priority areas and opportunities for enhanced cooperation and joint investment in sectors like energy, infrastructure, technology, and natural resources.
Both leaders emphasized building on recent advancements in UAE-Azerbaijan relations, supporting partnerships and projects contributing to sustainable development, and advancing their mutual interests.
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed and President Aliyev witnessed the signing and exchange of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between entities from both countries, aiming to broaden cooperation and joint investment. These agreements reaffirmed a commitment to developing economic partnerships, exploring new opportunities in priority sectors, strengthening ties, and supporting shared development goals.
The meeting and signing ceremony were attended by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed and several senior officials and representatives from relevant entities in the UAE and Azerbaijan.
