HONOLULU (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 23rd Aug, 2026) Tropical Storm Moke is making its way towards Hawaii, likely bringing heavy rainfall and strong gusts to the Big Island, which is still recovering from Hurricane Lala.

Moke, which formed on Friday in the Pacific Ocean, was located approximately 680 kilometers southeast of Hilo at the time of writing and moving west-northwest, according to the National Hurricane Center.

As with Hurricane Lala, the Big Island is expected to experience the brunt of Moke’s rain and wind as it passes south of a direct hit late Saturday into early Sunday.

Moke is then anticipated to continue its westward trajectory near the islands through early Tuesday, said Casey Oswant, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Honolulu.
