UAE Archery Team Trains in Uzbekistan Ahead of Major Asian and Olympic Events

The UAE National Archery Team is gearing up for a busy period with several significant tournaments ahead. They are currently participating in an international training camp in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from August 19th to 24th.
Training Assembly in Tashkent
The team comprises 18 athletes, both male and female, across various age categories, focusing on compound and recurve disciplines. Humaid Sabt Al Shamsi, Vice President of the UAE Archery Federation and Chairman of the National Teams Committee, emphasized that this training session is crucial for their upcoming assignments.
Major Tournaments on the Horizon
The primary events include:
- Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan (September 19th – October 4th)
- Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (October 31st – November 13th)
- 3rd West Asian Archery Championship 2026 in Fujairah (October 15th – 22nd), featuring senior, U21, and U18 categories.
- Asian Youth Archery Championship in Khorfakkan (December)
