University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Plants 15,000 Saplings

University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has planted 15,000 saplings across its campus and city as part of Pakistan's national plantation drive, aiming to promote environmental sustainability and combat climate change.

Initiated on National Tree Plantation Day

In collaboration with the Punjab Forest Department and UAF's Gardening Wing, a ceremony was held at Pak Korea Nutrition Center to mark the National Tree Plantation Day. The event aimed to enhance the university's green spaces and raise awareness about the role of trees in mitigating climate change.

Efforts by UAF Faculty

Dean of Food Sciences, Dr. Imran Pasha, emphasized the importance of consistent planting and proper care for sapling survival. Chairman of Forestry at UAF, Dr. Fahad Rasheed, viewed the 15,000 saplings as a significant step towards increasing the university's green cover and contributing to national climate change efforts. He encouraged effective maintenance and protection of the newly planted trees.

Contributions to National Green Cover

Conservator of Forests Punjab, Dr. Naseem Butt, praised UAF's initiatives, highlighting tree planting as a powerful nature-based solution to address climate change and environmental degradation. He expressed his appreciation for the university's commitment to increasing the country's green cover.

The plantation activity was attended by several faculty members, including Dr. Issa Khan, Dr. Atif Randhawa, Dr. Ahmad Sattar, Dr. Muhammad Irfan, Dr. Ahsan, Dr. Adnan Younas, Deputy Conservator of Forests Rana Shahid Nasim, and others.
