Viral Video of Woman Assaulted at Police Station in SHO’s Presence Found Old

Bahawalnagar police has issued a clarification regarding CCTV footage of a woman being assaulted that went viral on social media, stating the incident is not recent but occurred four years ago. The main accused was sentenced to six months in prison by a court, while departmental action was also taken against the SHO for negligence and mismanagement.
According to a Bahawalnagar police spokesperson, a case was registered against the accused immediately after the incident. As a result of legal proceedings, the court sentenced the main accused to six months in prison after finding him guilty.
The police spokesperson further confirmed that immediate strict departmental action was taken against the relevant SHO for his failure to intervene during the assault.
It may be recalled that a video is currently circulating on social media showing an influential person attacking and scuffling with a woman in the presence of police personnel, while the officers remain silent spectators. After the video rapidly went viral, Bahawalnagar police issued a clarification, confirming the incident's vintage.
