Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has stated that his party is not supportive of protests and will call off its march if the government abolishes the petroleum levy today.
Addressing crowds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman announced that the long march would commence on September 20, reaching Islamabad on March 23 or 24. He revealed his plan to depart from Karachi as part of a train march.
He claimed that reasonable proposals had been presented to the government but were being rejected. Emphasizing their determination, he stated that they would proceed with the march and any obstructions should be removed.
According to the Jamaat-e-Islami chief, changing political parties won't make a difference, questioning how parties with mafia connections can speak against them. He also criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for neglecting public issues, noting that neither the economy nor peace was improving.
Recall that Jamaat-e-Islami has organized a long march to Islamabad on September 20, protesting against the petroleum levy.
