Iqrar Hassan stated that the children of the poor are facing hunger while their chief minister takes an air journey costing Rs30 million. He further added that social media has prevented even Rs22.5 million from being charged to the nation, questioning the actual cost of the trip.
“Who are these insensitive and conscienceless people? Every child of the poor nation is struggling for one meal, while its chief minister spends Rs30 million on a single air journey.”
Hassan believes that the middle class will now be more than just voters; they will fight for their rights. He predicts the fall of personality cults and dynastic politics, stating:
“The common people of Pakistan will not chant slogans for others’ rule; they will struggle for themselves. The idols of personality cults and dynastic politics will be broken, and there will be people’s rule.”
This comes after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid Rs27,194,004 for using the official aircraft for her visit to London. A controversy arose over a bank receipt showing a payment date of September 17, 2026, and a collection date of September 18, 2026.
The National Bank cash transfer slip indicates that the amount was paid from an account at the Bank of Punjab. Geo news shared the receipt, raising questions about the timing of the payment.
