Youth Drowns in River Jhelum While Retrieving Buffaloes
SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Aug, 2026) A 23-year-old youth met his tragic end by drowning in the River Jhelum near Kundan Shahpur while attempting to rescue his buffaloes from the river on Saturday.
According to Rescue 1122, the District Control Room Sargodha received a distress call regarding the incident at Kundan Shahpur, prompting them to dispatch rescue and water rescue teams led by District Emergency Officer Mazhar Shah.
Upon arrival, the teams initiated a search and recovery operation, eventually retrieving the body of the deceased, identified as Muhammad Arsalan, son of Abdul Rauf. Family members revealed that Arsalan had been grazing his buffaloes near the riverbank when he slipped into the water while trying to bring them out.
After completing the necessary legal formalities, the Shahpur police handed over the body to the grieving family.
