FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiq on Monday ordered the launch of a 100-member joint task force of the Parks & Horticulture Agency (PHA) and Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) to clean one city area every day, with a coordinated focus on sanitation, restoration of green belts, grass cutting, and improvement of public parks.
He issued these directions during a detailed tour of different parts of the city, where he also inspected the sanitation situation, condition of green belts and parks, and arrangements for grass cutting. He directed the concerned departments to accelerate practical measures for improving cleanliness, restoring neglected green spaces, and enhancing overall appearance of the city.
Key Highlights:
- The joint task force will clean a designated area each day before moving to the next location.
- Operations will involve removal of excess grass, bushes, and other unwanted material from green belts, cleaning of parks, and improvement of general sanitation.
- Neglected areas will be given priority with a focus on sustained maintenance after initial cleaning.
He emphasized that this initiative should not remain one-time effort, directing relevant departments to establish regular cleaning and maintenance systems. He reminded that green belts and parks are an important part of the city's landscape and negligence in their upkeep is unacceptable.
The deputy commissioner directed the task force to complete cleaning of one area before moving on to the next to ensure a phased and systematic improvement across the city. He also ordered immediate removal of excessive grass, bushes, and other unnecessary material from green belts and called for more effective cleanliness arrangements in parks.
