Awais Qadir Visits Modern Trauma Centre Sukkur, Inquires After Injured Students
SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah on Thursday visited the modern, fully equipped Trauma Centre Sukkur, where Incharge Trauma Centre Dr. Zulfiqar Soomro gave him a detailed briefing on the centre’s performance, medical facilities, emergency services and administrative matters.
Principal of Ghulam Muhammad Mehar Medical College Dr. Saleh Channa and Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Sukkur Dr. Mujtaba were also present.
The Speaker inspected various departments of the Trauma Centre and reviewed the medical facilities, emergency services and other arrangements being provided to the patients. He was briefed about the treatment system, performance, and patient care facilities at the centre.
On the occasion, Syed Awais Qadir Shah appreciated the modern medical facilities and arrangements available at the Trauma Centre and directed that while further improving the medical facilities, timely and quality treatment to the patients should be ensured. He stated:
"Provision of modern medical facilities is among the top priorities of the Sindh government, and we are taking practical steps to provide better health facilities to the public. The Trauma Centre Sukkur will be made more functional and equipped with more modern facilities."
He also emphasized that no negligence will be tolerated in providing timely treatment and best medical facilities to the patients, adding:
"Providing health facilities to the people at their doorstep is our priority, along with improving facilities in medical institutions, it is essential to provide the best environment for the patients."
During the visit, Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah also inquired after the students injured in the Primary school roof collapse incident. Four students, including three female students, injured in the incident had been shifted to the Trauma Centre for treatment.
He met their family members to inquire about the children’s health and treatment. The Speaker directed the doctors to provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured students and stressed that no negligence or carelessness should be shown in their treatment.
