Ayaz Calls For Stronger Parliamentary Action To Address Climate Change
Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, urged for enhanced parliamentary leadership, democratic accountability, and international cooperation to tackle the escalating challenges posed by climate change during his address at the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town.

During Ayaz Sadiq's speech, members of the Indian delegation created a disturbance. The chair intervened to maintain order, and even the Jamaican Speaker and host of the event stepped in to restore discipline. This incident left the Indian delegation humiliated in front of international attendees.
Despite this brief interruption, Ayaz Sadiq resumed his speech, emphasizing that climate adaptation can only be effectively achieved through equitable financial support, democratic accountability, international cooperation, and sustained parliamentary engagement.
