Balochistan Directorate of Tourism Dept hosts national flag to celebrate I-Day in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Sunset Point Quetta Cantt in connection with the post-independence ceremony organized by the Directorate of Tourism, Government of Balochistan.
The national flag was hoisted on the occasion of Independence Day and special prayers were offered for the security, stability, development, and prosperity of the country during the ceremony.
On this occasion, Director of Tourism, Government of Balochistan, Gawram Bakshi Baloch, congratulated the nation on celebrating Independence Day. He stated:
"Independence is the great blessing of Almighty and the fruit of the eternal sacrifices of our elders. We should value independence and play our full role for the development, prosperity, and stability of the country and nation."
Balochistan, according to the Director, is a province rich in natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural diversity. The Directorate of Tourism is taking vigorous steps to make the tourist places of the province more attractive to domestic and foreign tourists, promote tourism, and highlight the positive image of Balochistan.
He noted that various tourist destinations in the province, including Sunset Point Quetta, are not only reflections of the beauty of Balochistan but also represent our culture, history, and natural heritage. The Director expressed his determination to take coordinated measures to create new employment opportunities and strengthen the local economy through the promotion of tourism in the province.
He emphasized that Independence Day gives us a message of unity, discipline, brotherhood, and national solidarity, and that the development and prosperity of Pakistan are the common responsibility of all of us. We have to play our role in the development and progress of the country, going beyond personal and collective interests.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the security, stability, development, and prosperity of the country and peace and prosperity in Balochistan.
