Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Reviews Development Projects, Inaugurates Plantation Drive
BAHAWALNAGAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah, visited various areas of the district on Thursday to review ongoing development projects, road construction and rehabilitation schemes, and public facilities.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected development schemes at Faqirwali Road, Donga Bonga, Arifwala Road, Jatto Wala Road, 13-Gajiani Road, Sadar Police Station Road and Haroonabad. Officials briefed him on the progress of the projects, quality of construction and their completion status.
Mr. Kathia directed the concerned departments to complete all development schemes within the stipulated time and ensure no compromise on construction quality. He stated that timely completion of road construction and rehabilitation projects would provide better travelling facilities to citizens.
He also stressed regular monitoring and transparency in the execution of development schemes.
The Commissioner further inspected Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Haroonabad, where he reviewed medical facilities, cleanliness and administrative arrangements. He then inaugurated a plantation campaign at the hospital by planting a sapling in the hospital’s green area in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner.
He urged citizens and government departments to plant more trees and ensure their proper care to promote a greener environment and reduce pollution.
DC Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah briefed the Commissioner on ongoing development projects and the performance of various departments in the district. He assured him that schemes of public interest would be effectively monitored and completed on a priority basis. Officials of the relevant departments were also present on the occasion.
