Commissioner Reviews Quetta Green Bus Service; 17 New Electronic Buses To Be Added

Commissioner Quetta Division Zeeshan Lashari announced that 17 new electronic buses will soon be added to feeder routes in Quetta, making the service more organized and citizen-friendly.
Lashari chaired a crucial meeting to review facilities and improvements in the Quetta Green Bus Service. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Secretary Regional Transport Authority Quetta Naimatullah Tareen, operating consultants, officials from the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), and other relevant authorities.
He stressed that all departments must continue collaborative efforts to enhance the Green Bus Service for the public.
During the session, the operating agency provided a comprehensive overview of the service, including:
- Routes
- Bus stops
- Operational systems
- Facilities offered to citizens
It was revealed that 25 Green Buses are currently operational in Quetta, with four dedicated to female passengers, staffed entirely by women for safety and convenience. The service operates across four routes daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, featuring approximately 40 stops on the Kuchlak route and 50 along Metropolitan to Sariab Road.
The briefing also highlighted the extension of the Green Bus Service to Turbat, with four buses currently in operation there.
Commissioner Lashari issued several directives:
- Ensure optimal facilities at all bus stops
- Implement modern technology for enhanced reliability
- Develop a mobile app offering live bus tracking, route details, and schedules for improved passenger planning
He further instructed the operating firm to present detailed records on routes, stops, ticketing systems, business models, agreements, and operations in the upcoming meeting. Emphasizing transparency and effective monitoring, he urged authorities to guarantee exceptional travel experiences for citizens.
Secretary RTA Quetta Naimatullah Tareen was tasked with regular monitoring of routes, stops, and passenger facilities, ensuring coordination with relevant institutions to overcome challenges.
