Common Man Severely Affected by Petrol Price Hikes: Senator Musadik Malik

Petrol price hikes have significantly increased the cost of living, while the federal government has provided Rs100 per litre relief under the Prime Minister’s scheme. Senator Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change, made this statement at a press conference.
He acknowledged the difficulties faced by the common man due to rising petrol prices globally, attributing them to the ongoing war between the United States and Iran. Despite these challenges, the minister assured that the government is providing relief to the best of its abilities, with oil prices continuing to rise.
"Those driving cars worth crores also belong to this country, but the first right belongs to those with small cars," Malik emphasized. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s efforts to prioritize relief for the poor, noting that the levy on petroleum products is Rs80 with an additional Rs5 carbon levy, while the Prime Minister has provided Rs100 in relief.
The federal minister suggested that the current relief measures are sufficient, considering the economic constraints faced by the government, but acknowledged that further assistance may be needed once global peace is established. He announced that the petrol relief scheme, initially launched in Islamabad, will soon be rolled out nationwide over the next few days.
