Court Issues Written Order on PTI’s September 27 Protest and Long March Petition
Islamabad High Court has issued a written order regarding a petition related to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) September 27 protest and long march, while a three-member larger bench has also been constituted to hear the matter. The bench will comprise Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, Justice Azam Khan, and Justice Muhammad Asif.
Chief Justice Dogar issued the three-page written order from the previous hearing and directed the chief secretaries and inspectors general of all four provinces to appear before the court in person tomorrow. The court also summoned Islamabad's chief commissioner, inspector general, and deputy commissioner.
According to the written order, a trader had filed a petition against PTI’s proposed protest, arguing that existing legislation governing protests in Islamabad could mitigate potential losses. The court observed the matter's importance and issued a notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan for assistance.
It is worth noting that PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a protest and long march on September 27 over allegations that former Prime Minister Imran Khan's family members and personal physicians are being denied access to him.
