Court Reporters Comment on Transfer of Imran Khan Shifa Hospital Case to Constitutional Court

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Sep, 2026) Interesting comments have emerged from Supreme Court and High Court reporters following the Federal Constitutional Court’s decision to summon the complete record of PTI founder Imran Khan’s case concerning his transfer to Shifa International Hospital from the Supreme Court and transfer the case to the Constitutional Court.
According to details, judicial journalists said that three prisoners from Adiala Jail seeking similar relief, followed by the sudden transfer of the case to the Federal Constitutional Court, was not a coincidental development.
Court reporter Rizwan Qazi made an interesting and sarcastic comment on the entire legal exercise, saying that three ordinary prisoners at Adiala Jail suddenly developed an interest in receiving treatment at a private hospital and, in the process, took Imran Khan’s pending case down with them.
Similarly, renowned journalist covering judicial affairs Thaqib Bashir reacted in his distinctive style to the Federal Constitutional Court’s order seeking the record of Imran Khan’s case from the Supreme Court. He said that the three prisoners from Adiala Jail had either come for this specific task or had been brought for this particular purpose, and the task assigned to them had finally been completed today.
Another court reporter, Ehtisham Kiyani, raised questions about the timing and procedure of the entire matter, commenting: “Is there anyone in this city or legal community who did not know why and how the petitions of the three prisoners from Adiala Jail suddenly reached the Federal Constitutional Court? And what order was the Federal Constitutional Court supposed to issue regarding Imran Khan’s case exactly one day before it was formally heard in the Supreme Court?”
