DC Lahore Directs Safe Arrangements, Regulated Manufacturing For Basant 2027

Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Muhammad Ali Ejaz, chaired a review meeting at Jallo Park on Saturday to finalize preparations for Basant 2027. He directed the district administration to enforce strict regulatory monitoring to ensure public safety during the traditional festival.
The meeting reviewed safety plans and proposed five designated zones for regulated kite-string manufacturing, including:
- Manawan sports Complex
- LDA City Nishter
- Raiwind Market
- Rakh Teera Cantt
- Sagian Bridge Ravi
These zones will encompass approximately 500 to 600 manufacturing points across the city.
The Deputy Commissioner tasked the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) with establishing direct liaison with kite-flying and manufacturing associations to develop hybrid business models for the regulated supply of materials and prevent market shortages.
Emphasizing that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority, DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz stated that the administration will extend full cooperation to stakeholders to preserve the cultural character of Basant while maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations.
He added that the traditional colours and spirit of Basant would be celebrated while ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and protecting citizens from any risks associated with kite flying.
