England Bowler Brydon Carse Under ECB Investigation for Reported Nightclub Incident
BBC Sport reports that England bowler Brydon Carse is under investigation by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) following a reported nightclub incident in Derby on Saturday.
Videos circulating on social media show Carse, accompanied by team-mate Matthew Potts, in handcuffs and being led away from a club by four police officers.
The Durham bowler, part of England’s squad for the second Test against Pakistan this week, was not on official England duty at the time.
An ECB statement confirms: "We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating."
This investigation comes just days after England captain Joe Root called on his players to be "really good role models" and represent their country positively. He highlighted past off-field issues, including incidents involving Harry Brook and team curfew breaches during the Ashes series.
Carse has previously faced controversy for historical betting offences, resulting in a three-month suspension from cricket in 2024.
